I am Sha’Vaughn Kierra Wallace, and the Kierra Keeps Caring Foundation was developed to honor my memory. I was a 2008 graduate of Schenley High School in Pittsburgh, Pa. Upon graduation, I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I majored in Business and minored in Music so that I could pursue my dream of becoming an entertainer.
Two weeks after returning home from completing my freshman year, my dream was stolen. On the evening of May 22, 2009, I became an innocent victim to gang violence in the City’s North Side neighborhood.
Although my killer has been brought to justice, the continuous feelings of grief and anger experienced by my family and friends are far too commonly shared amongst many within our communities.
